US-Israel-Iran War Latest Live News: The Strait of Hormuz remains at the centre of rising tensions between Iran and the United States, with Tehran making fresh allegations about oil shipments and warning of further military action if fighting resumes. Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has accused the US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) military of supporting an alleged oil-smuggling network in the strategic waterway.

His remarks, made in an interview with Iranian state-run Press TV, came as Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy reported that an oil supertanker has struck a naval mine while attempting to cross the strait.

The allegations have not received an immediate public response from CENTCOM or the UAE. Rezaei also rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim that the waterway was open, insisting that Tehran would retain control over maritime movements. The latest statements add to uncertainty over shipping access, regional security and the future of the conflict.

Rezaei alleged that Adm. Brad Cooper, head of CENTCOM, oversaw oil transfers involving small boats and larger tankers, with UAE military personnel supporting the operations. According to the Iranian official, five or six small vessels were allegedly used to transfer oil through the waterway.

He also claimed Iranian forces had been striking vessels linked to these operations every night for the past two or three months. However, Rezaei did not provide independently verified evidence to support the allegations, and neither CENTCOM nor the UAE had issued an immediate response.

The accusations come as Iran continues to challenge US statements about maritime access and security in the Strait of Hormuz. Reuters reported on October 7 that an Iranian military adviser had also threatened to close routes Tehran considers unauthorised, particularly those near Oman’s coast.

Rezaei rejected Trump’s assertion that the Strait of Hormuz was open, arguing that Iran would continue to manage access to the strategic waterway.

“From now on, therefore, we will maintain control over the management of the Strait of Hormuz. It will remain under our management to ensure peace and security in the region. We will not back down on this issue,” he said.
