A capacity building workshop on how digital storytelling can support credible, public-interest journalism in Nepal

KATHMANDU: TikTok, in partnership with the Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (CDJMC), Tribhuvan University (TU), organized a two-day masterclass on journalism and digital storytelling to help students prepare for a media landscape increasingly shaped by mobile and social platforms.

The TikTok Masterclass on Journalism & Digital Storytelling brought together undergraduate and master’s students from TU-affiliated colleges, faculty members, journalists, digital creators, and industry experts for platform training, discussions, and the exchange of ideas and perspectives.

The masterclass featured engaging sessions led by industry experts from TikTok, media, and the creator community. TikTok-led sessions focused on journalistic content creation, safety, and responsible storytelling, while journalists and digital storytellers brought their own practical, real-world expertise to the table, offering students a grounded perspective on building credibility in a fast-changing media landscape.
