Following protests and representations from employees, the Tamil Nadu government has withdrawn its order, issued on September 11, to restrict interim monthly pension payout to ₹10,000 plus dearness relief.
A letter from the Expenditure Secretary to the Director of Treasuries and Accounts stated that it would revert to the arrangement as per the June 16 Government Order (G.O.) for the interim monthly payouts to employees who retired on or after January 1, 2006. Any recovery initiated as per the letter issued on September 11 by the Expenditure Secretary also should be stopped immediately.
