The biggest shock came from Savu where Rob Antonson was still struggling after the chaotic Tribal Council in the previous episode. Rob had already tried to engineer his own elimination by attempting to vote for himself, only to learn that he could not do so under the game’s rules.

This time, however, Rob was dealing with pain in his foot after apparently stepping on something in the ocean. He eventually asked the medical team to examine him.

The doctor found a small cut between his toes but did not find an injury or infection serious enough to require him to leave the game. Rob nevertheless remained worried about the possibility of an infection and decided that continuing the competition was not worth the risk. He told Jeff Probst and his tribemates that he was leaving Survivor.

The decision divided the tribe. Some players questioned whether the injury was really the reason behind Rob’s departure, particularly because of his earlier attempt to get himself voted out. Probst also reflected on Rob’s emotional state, noting that the early days of the game can be particularly difficult for contestants.
