Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] State secretary M.V. Govindan said here on Saturday that former IPS officer R. Sreelekha’s “resignation” as a Thiruvananthapuram Corporation councillor exposed growing problems within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Mr. Govindan said some people enter politics with expectations of personal benefits and may not remain in active politics for long. He cited Ms. Sreelekha’s “resignation” as an example.
