Riyadh Airport Attack: A family trip from Hyderabad to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah has ended in tragedy after 46-year-old Mohammed Yusuf died following an attack at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Yusuf, an IT professional working in Saudi Arabia, was reportedly waiting with his wife and three children to travel to Madinah when falling debris injured several members of the family.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi raised the case on Sunday, October 11, and urged India’s diplomatic leadership to help the injured family and support the repatriation of Yusuf’s remains.
The incident has drawn attention to the risks faced by civilians as attacks continue to affect Saudi Arabia. Yusuf’s family members are receiving medical care, according to the information shared by Owaisi and reports from Hyderabad. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia have also expressed condolences and promised assistance to the bereaved family.

Mohammed Yusuf, a 46-year-old Hyderabad resident from Mehdipatnam, was an IT professional working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He had travelled from Hyderabad to Saudi Arabia with his wife, Sameera, and their three children about a week before the incident to perform Umrah.
The family was reportedly waiting at Riyadh Airport to travel to Madinah when an attack struck the airport. Yusuf was reportedly hit by falling debris and suffered severe leg injuries. He later died, while his wife and children also sustained injuries.
His death prompted AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi to seek immediate assistance from External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and other officials to support the family and facilitate the repatriation of his mortal remains.
