Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Ravi Lamichhane has stated that the allegations against him are politically motivated. Speaking at an event in Kathmandu on Saturday, Lamichhane made it clear that he is not afraid of any legal proceedings and will reveal the truth.

Lamichhane urged the state machinery to work impartially and expressed his full respect for the judiciary. He mentioned that the issues presented in a distorted manner have created confusion among the public, but the reality will soon be made public.

He emphasized that transparency and accountability have been his top priorities throughout his political career, and he will not back down from any allegations. Lamichhane also urged his supporters to remain calm and respect the legal process.

On another note, he stated that there should not be an environment where the private sector is forced to operate in fear. If any businessman or entrepreneur has made a mistake, they should be viewed only through the lens of economic crime, according to Lamichhane.

He argued that the fear of being arrested and the terror faced by the private sector are issues he is aware of. "I am aware that some of my friends in the private sector are terrified and intimidated," he said. "I want to make it clear through this forum that if anyone has made any mistakes while doing business, if there are any issues that are not within the legal framework, they should be viewed as economic crimes."

Lamichhane made it clear that he is not in favor of blaming past leadership. "I am not in favor of blaming past leadership. Now, the ball is in our court. I am not interested in finding fault in who ruled for how many years, who was a minister for how many years, or whose party formed the government," he said.

Chairman Lamichhane expressed his commitment to safely landing the "Udaan" initiative, which his leadership is currently pursuing. He compared the journey to a flight, saying that although there may be turbulence due to weather conditions, it should not be taken as a sign of an accident.

"Don’t worry, this flight will safely reach its destination. Although there may be turbulence due to weather conditions, we will land safely," Lamichhane said.
