KATHMANDU: On the occasion of Maha Nawami, the ninth day of the ten-day Bada Dashain festival, President Ramchandra Paudel conducted a worship ceremony honoring Nawakanya (nine virgins) at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas, today.

The Head-of-State observes an annual tradition of venerating nine virgins during the Maha Nawami celebration.

During this ceremonial occasion, First Lady Sabita Paudel also participated in the worship of Nawakanya, revering them as manifestations of Goddess Nawadurga.
