Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended his greetings on the occasion of Navratri and wished that the divine grace of Goddess Durga brings happiness, peace, prosperity, and good health to all.

The Navratri is a nine-day Hindu festival held in honour of the divine feminine.

"Heartiest greetings to all countrymen on the grand festival of Shakti-Sadhana, Navratri. By the grace of Mother Jagdamba, may happiness, peace, prosperity, and good health dwell in everyone's life, further strengthening the resolve for the nation's unity and progress," Mr. Modi said in a post on 'X' in Hindi.

The Prime Minister also extended his obeisance to Goddess Shailputri, the presiding deity of peace, on the beginning of Navratri.

"By her divine grace, may the lamp of patience and self-confidence be lit in everyone's heart. I pray that the Mother's blessings always remain upon all our countrymen," he said in another post.

The Navratri is dedicated to the worship of goddess Durga and her nine forms, each symbolising different qualities such as strength, wisdom, courage, devotion, and protection.

The festival symbolises the triumph of good over evil.
