A 60-year-old pilgrim, Nima Kumari Rijal, tragically died in a bus accident in Rapti Municipality of East Chitwan. Ms. Rijal, a resident of Rapti Municipality-2 Gadyauli, was returning from a religious festival at Sunsari’s Chataradham.
According to police reports, the accident occurred when Ms. Rijal was disembarking the bus on the east-west highway at Rapti-2 Gadyauli. She sustained severe injuries and passed away while undergoing treatment at the old medical college.
Chitwan District Police Office spokesperson Sriram Bhandari confirmed the incident. The bus involved and its driver, 41-year-old Krishna Sapkota of Makwanpur Hetauda sub-metropolis-18, are in police custody. Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
