Recap of Nepal vs. Canada Warm-Up Match

Earlier this week, Nepal elected to field first against Canada. Despite valiant efforts from Kushal Malla (37 runs), Anil Shah (24 runs), and Aasif Sheikh (22 runs), Nepal’s batting lineup faltered under the pressure of Dillon Heyliger’s exceptional bowling for Canada. Heyliger’s four wickets crippled Nepal’s batting, restricting them to 120 runs after 19.3 overs, well short of Canada’s 184-run target.

Nepal’s bowlers displayed promising potential, with Abinash Bohara taking two wickets. Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Gulsan Jha, and Sagar Dhakal each chipped in with a wicket apiece.

Following their clash with the USA, Nepal will head straight into the T20 World Cup. Their World Cup campaign commences on June 4th against the Netherlands at the same Dallas venue.

Nepal has been placed in Group D alongside Sri Lanka, South Africa, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands. The top two teams from each group will progress to the Super Eight stage. This is Nepal’s first T20 World Cup appearance in a decade, and they are eager to make a lasting impression.
