The decision to implement the ‘Clean water for every household’ (Drink Directly from Tap) initiative on a pilot basis in Mysuru city was taken at a meeting chaired by Urban Development Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah here on Tuesday.

The initiative aims to supply clean drinking water directly to every household through taps. The meeting discussed the necessary measures to implement the pilot project in Mysuru within one year.

Several cities in Western countries have established systems to supply clean drinking water directly to households through taps. With the objective of ensuring convenient access to safe and clean drinking water for urban residents, the meeting deliberated on introducing a similar system in Karnataka.

The meeting discussed the technical requirements, feasibility and potential challenges involved in establishing a system that supplies clean drinking water directly to households through taps. Mysuru has been selected for the pilot implementation of this initiative in Karnataka.
