Mirra Andreeva, the fourth seed, is set to take on China’s Qinwen Zheng in the final of the 2026 China Open in Beijing on Sunday, October 11. The Russian teenager has enjoyed an impressive campaign and is chasing her fourth title of the season after winning the French Open earlier this year. Andreeva has been in control throughout the tournament, dropping just one set on her way to the final. She secured her place in the title clash with a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory over Nikola Bartunkova in the semifinals, spending just 74 minutes on court. The result also guarantees Andreeva a debut inside the world’s top three when the latest rankings are released.

Zheng’s journey to the final has been particularly impressive given her return from elbow surgery earlier this year. Competing as a wildcard, the reigning Olympic singles champion has rediscovered her rhythm in front of her home crowd and become the first Chinese player to reach the China Open women’s singles final. She battled through four consecutive three-set matches in the early rounds before producing a stronger finish against Elise Mertens, winning their semifinal 7-5, 6-2. The support inside the Capital Group Diamond Court could prove valuable as Zheng looks to claim the title on home soil, although her demanding run may also leave her with less energy than Andreeva, who had a shorter semifinal.
