Martin Raiser, World Bank VP to Attend Nepal’s Investment Conference

Martin Raiser, World Bank Vice President for South Asia, has confirmed his attendance at the upcoming third investment conference in Nepal. The conference is scheduled for May 29th and 30th, 2024, in Kathmandu.

Finance Minister Barshman Pun personally invited Raiser during a virtual meeting. Raiser expressed his gratitude and promised to encourage international investor participation in the conference. “I thank you for inviting me and I promise to meet you in Kathmandu,” Raiser told Minister Pun.

The World Bank Vice President also expressed willingness to explore further areas of cooperation between Nepal and the World Bank during his visit.

Finance Minister Pun emphasized Nepal’s priority on private sector development and attracting foreign investment. He noted that the country is making legal and procedural reforms in preparation for the conference. He expressed confidence that the event will strengthen Nepal’s partnership with the World Bank.
