A 21-year-old man, Jiban Niraula, was found dead in a guesthouse located in Lalitpur Municipal-17, Sichahiti, according to Nareshraj Subedi, SP and Spokesperson of the Lalitpur District Police Complex.
Niraula, a resident of Solukhumbu, arrived at the guesthouse operated by Suman Tamang on Saturday night at 9:30 pm. On Sunday morning, after 11:30 am, the guesthouse staff noticed the room door remained closed. Although Niraula could be seen through the window apparently sleeping, he didn’t respond when called.
Concerned, the staff contacted the police. Officers arrived at the scene, broke open the door, and discovered Niraula deceased.
Police suspect Niraula might have been a drug user as they found ampoules typically used for drug administration in the room. Niraula’s body has been transported to the University Teaching Hospital for autopsy to determine the cause of death.
