Drowns in Phewa Lake

A man has died after drowning in Phewa Lake, Pokhara, on Wednesday, June 26th.

The victim, identified as 33-year-old Suk Bahadur Magar from Baglung, was reportedly fishing in the lake when the incident occurred around 5:55 PM.

Emergency Response:

Upon receiving news of the drowning, authorities from the Ward Police Office Baidam and the Armed Police Force were swiftly deployed for a rescue operation.

Mr. Magar was retrieved from the lake at 5:21 PM and rushed to the West Regional Hospital for treatment. However, despite efforts from medical personnel, he was declared dead.

The news of the drowning and Mr. Magar’s passing was confirmed by DSP Basanta Kumar Sharma, Information Officer of the District Police Office Kaski.
