A 35-year-old man, Lallan Yadav, has been arrested in Delhi for allegedly murdering his live-in partner, 32-year-old Anjali. The murder took place on March 13th in Chauma village, located in the Palam Vihar area.
Police reports indicate the crime was triggered by a dispute over food. Yadav, a native of Bihar, had been living with Anjali for the past 6-7 months. According to SHO Palam Vihar, Karamjeet Singh, Yadav was an alcoholic who frequently quarreled with Anjali. On the evening of the murder, Yadav returned home intoxicated and demanded food. When Anjali refused, he attacked her with a blunt object and a belt, resulting in her death.
Both Yadav and Anjali worked as laborers and resided in an under-construction building in Chauma village. The investigation is ongoing.
