Kosovo’s gross electricity production increased by 18.2% year-on-year in August 2026, reaching 455 gigawatt-hours (GWh), compared with 384.8 GWh in the same month last year, according to the country’s national statistical office, ASK.
The figures, released on October 15, show an increase in electricity generation, led by higher output from Kosovo’s coal-fired power plants. ASK reported that production from the country’s two coal-fired plants rose by 19.5% during the month.
However, the country continued to import more electricity than it exported, although the gap between imports and exports narrowed compared with August 2025.
