Korean National Dies in Everest Region Trekking Accident

Korean National Dies in Everest

A 47-year-old Korean national, Hyunchal Swang, has died after falling while trekking in the Sagarmatha (Everest) region of Nepal. The incident occurred on March 11th in the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu rural municipality-4 as Swang was returning from a climb of Island Peak.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Shrestha, Swang slipped and fell approximately two meters from the trail. His body was transported by helicopter to Lukla and then sent to the TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for a post-mortem examination.

Swang had reportedly arrived in the Khumbu region on March 11th through the Atex Company for mountaineering purposes.
