Gokul Election Result 2026: Counting for the Kolhapur District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union, popularly known as Gokul, began on Monday, October 19, after the election recorded a massive 99.96% voter turnout a day earlier. Of 5,418 eligible voters, 5,416 cast their votes, making the contest between the two rival panels especially significant.

The early trends point to a close fight. After 1,650 votes were counted in the general category, Mahayuti-backed candidates were leading in 17 of the 20 seats, with several holding only narrow margins. Three candidates from the alliance led by Congress leader Satej Patil were also ahead, keeping the contest open as counting continued.

Gokul Election Result 2026: Cross-Voting Adds Uncertainty to the Result

The possibility of cross-voting has become a key factor in the Gokul election. Initial figures from Radhanagari taluka showed that, among the first 25 ballot papers examined, nine reflected voting within the same panel, while 16 indicated cross-voting.

The trend has drawn attention to counting in Gaganbawda, Hatkanangle, Ajra and Radhanagari. During campaigning, reports suggested that some voters might have supported candidates from the opposing panel rather than voting for all candidates from their preferred group. The ballot count is now testing those claims.

Since the leading candidates have only small margins, cross-voting could change the standings in later rounds. The reserved-category count is also expected to be important in determining the final balance between the two alliances.
