Kapra Lake, on the north-east side of Hyderabad, which has been identified as a significant wetland and a habitat for migratory birds is being brought back to life by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA). The ongoing work aim to foster biodiversity and sustain the ecosystem for all forms of life.
The lake sprawls over 112 acres, including some land that was owned by local farmers. For a change, the local farmers voluntarily stepped forward to hand over 70 acres falling within the lake’s Full Tank Level (FTL) for the project.
