JPMorgan Earnings Prediction: JPMorgan Chase began the latest US banking earnings season with a mixed report, as higher profits and stronger lending income failed to meet Wall Street’s expectations for the third quarter of 2026. The largest US bank reported rising revenue on Tuesday, October 13, but its earnings per share fell short of analysts’ forecasts, putting the spotlight on trading performance, borrowing costs and the economic outlook.
The bank reported net income of $15.3 billion, up 6% from a year earlier, while earnings reached $5.57 per share. Revenue increased 8% to approximately $50.2 billion, below the $51.23 billion analysts had expected. Excluding certain investment securities losses, adjusted earnings came to $5.75 per share, still below the $5.93 consensus estimate.
Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon also cautioned that risks remain despite the resilience of the US economy. His comments highlighted the challenges facing major banks as they balance lending growth and market activity against inflation, higher interest rates and uncertainty in the global economy.
