KATHMANDU: The Nepal Premier League (NPL) will enforce stricter rules on player eligibility, anti-corruption, and match operations in line with International Cricket Council (ICC) standards, Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Secretary Paras Khadka said on Saturday.

Speaking at a press conference at TU International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur, Khadka said foreign players must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective cricket boards to participate in the tournament. Players who have competed in tournaments not approved by the ICC or relevant cricket boards during the six months before the NPL begins will be ineligible to participate. The NOC requirement also applies to foreign players who have retired from international cricket.
