Governor Appointments 2026: Sudha Yadav Appointed Karnataka Governor
Sudha Yadav’s appointment to Karnataka marks a new phase in a political career that has included parliamentary representation and senior responsibilities within the BJP. Before her appointment, she served on the party’s Parliamentary Board, its top decision-making body, and was previously a member of the National Commission for Backward Classes.
Yadav entered electoral politics in 1999 after her husband, Sukhbir Singh Yadav, a Deputy Commandant in the Border Security Force, died during the Kargil War. Narendra Modi, who was then overseeing the BJP’s organisation in Haryana, proposed her candidature from Mahendragarh for the Lok Sabha election, according to the background provided in reports about her appointment.
