The fourth ‘Youth Short Film Festival’ has been announced, targeting talents under the age of 20. The competition, organized in collaboration with Oscar College and the Film Development Board, will award the first-place winner with Rs 1 lakh, the second-place winner with Rs 50,000, and the third-place winner with Rs 25,000.
According to a statement released by Oscar College, the winner will also receive a 50% scholarship to study at the college if they choose to do so. The competition also includes a consolation prize.
The short films submitted for the competition should be at least 8 minutes and no longer than 15 minutes. The deadline for film submissions is Ashar 8, 2083. The best films will be showcased, and the winners will be announced on Ashar 15, 2083, at the same event where the awards will be distributed.
Professor Ramraja Dahal of Oscar College stated that this competition aims to encourage young people to produce films and identify new talents. He added that this competition has become an important platform for young filmmakers in Nepal and is organized annually at Oscar College.
