Dr. Praveen Mishra, former Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population, has passed away in New Delhi. Family sources confirmed that Dr. Mishra, who was receiving medical treatment in the city, died last night due to a sudden heart problem.
Dr. Mishra had recently undergone successful liver surgery in Delhi and had been residing in the city for the past month and a half. He served as the Secretary of the Ministry of Health from 2066 to 2071 BS.
Dr. Praveen Mishra served for five years as the Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population for the Government of Nepal. In this role, he took a leadership position in safeguarding the overall health and well-being of the Nepali people. His responsibilities encompassed policy development, program planning and implementation, as well as monitoring and evaluating these initiatives. Dr. Mishra’s dedication to public health is recognized through numerous awards received for his outstanding achievements in improving Nepal’s health sector.
