A forest fire spread to the Salleri settlement in Dhankuta municipality-9 on Thursday, causing significant damage to a local residence. The fire destroyed the one-story house belonging to Chandra Bahadur Magar.
The blaze ignited around 5:00 PM in the nearby Salleri community forest. Police and locals from the Velhara police post worked together to extinguish the flames after approximately 45 minutes.
Authorities report that food and other belongings inside the house were destroyed in the fire. This incident marks the latest in a string of damaging fires in the district, with over a dozen homes affected within the past month.
