A fire ripped through two shops in Saghghat, Ward No. 1 of East Chowki Rural Municipality, Doti district, on Thursday night. The blaze, believed to be caused by an electrical short circuit, erupted around 11:15 pm, according to Ward President Bal Bahadur Khadka.

The inferno quickly engulfed Dilasa Fancy Store, owned by Dil Bahadur Khadka. The flames then spread to the adjoining Khadka Hotel, owned by Bishnu Bahadur Khadka, destroying it completely.

It took a combined effort of residents, police, and the fire department from Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality to finally extinguish the blaze after a grueling three hours.
