KATARI, UDAYAPUR – A tragic accident involving a Bolero jeep in Katari, Udayapur, on Friday evening resulted in the deaths of two passengers. The deceased have been identified as Bir Bahadur Tamang, 70, and Lalkumari Tamang, 33.
Thirteen other passengers sustained injuries in the accident and are currently undergoing treatment at Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar and Katari Hospital.
The jeep, bearing registration number Na.1. Ja 8333, was en route from Katari Bazaar to Majhetar when it veered off the road and plummeted approximately 150 meters.
According to DSP Harinandan Chaudhary of the Udayapur District Police Office, a preliminary investigation indicates that the accident was caused by brake failure.
