Bullock carts, tillers and tractors rolled through the streets of Shivamogga on Thursday as farmers and elected representatives took part in the Raita Jatha, organised as part of the Shivamogga Dasara celebrations.

The jatha began at Science Field, where it was inaugurated by C.S. Asharani, a progressive farmer from Shikaripur taluk known for using drones to spray pesticides on crops. Elected representatives and leaders of farmers’ organisations drew a bullock cart along the route, and folk troupes added colour to the procession.
