Max Verstappen beat George Russell by just 0.120 seconds to claim provisional Sprint pole at the Singapore Grand Prix 2026 on Friday.
The Red Bull driver clocked 1:31.156 at Marina Bay, with Charles Leclerc third for Ferrari.
However, Verstappen’s result remained subject to a stewards’ investigation over a potential yellow flag infringement.

Verstappen delivered when it mattered in SQ3, finishing ahead of Russell after the Mercedes driver had topped Friday’s only practice session.
The Dutchman said the Red Bull felt stronger after switching to soft tyres, although he acknowledged that Singapore continued to expose weaknesses in the car.
Leclerc qualified third, followed by McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. Lewis Hamilton took sixth, while championship leader Kimi Antonelli finished seventh.
