Red Bull’s Max Verstappen won the Singapore Grand Prix 2026 from pole position at the Marina Bay Street Circuit on Sunday, securing his second consecutive victory of the season and completing a perfect weekend after also winning the sprint. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished second, while Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli took third place after a late-race battle involving Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton.

The result gave Verstappen his first Grand Prix victory in Singapore and marked his second successive race win for the first time this season.

The victory came on Verstappen’s 250th Grand Prix start. It also ended a 679-day wait for a Grand Prix finish in which Verstappen and Leclerc occupied the first two positions, with their previous such result coming at the 2024 Qatar Grand Prix.

Antonelli strengthened his position in the championship standings against Mercedes team-mate George Russell, who finished ninth, starting from the back of the grid on P19 after a 60-place grid penalty. The young Italian is now 102 points ahead of Russell and could clinch the title at the United States Grand Prix in Austin.

How Max Verstappen controlled the Singapore Grand Prix

Verstappen made the most of his pole position and maintained control at the front despite pressure from Leclerc during the early stages. Red Bull had the pace on both the soft and medium tyres, allowing the Dutchman to manage the race and pull away from the Ferrari driver.

Leclerc admitted that Ferrari had been competitive early on but struggled with tyre degradation as the race progressed. He also said the team had taken a different strategic approach to Verstappen’s Red Bull.
