By Binay Karn,Kalyanpur (Saptari), Oct. 16: The tradition of installing idols of Goddess Durga and worshipping them during Dashain is gaining popularity in Saptari district. In particular, the number of people in villages across the district who make and worship idols of Goddess Durga after believing that their wishes have been fulfilled is increasing.
During Dashain, idols of Goddess Durga are installed collectively and worshipped at various locations across Saptari. Similarly, people who have made religious vows also build separate idols at their homes or arrange individual worship ceremonies in accordance with their commitments.
As part of this tradition, which is closely associated with religious faith and belief, some devotees make vows to Goddess Durga in the hope that their wishes will come true. Once their wishes are fulfilled, they build idols and perform worship according to their promises.
