Locals in Dang Deukhuri have blocked the East-West Highway at Lamahi Municipality 8 Jaharechowk following a fatal bus collision that claimed the lives of two people. Protestors, armed with sticks and burning tires, demand compensation for the victims’ families and punishment for those responsible.
The protests have caused significant traffic disruptions. A large police force has been deployed to reopen the highway, but protestors are resisting their efforts.
The collision occurred Saturday evening on the Hulaki highway near the Koriya River bridge. Pramod Yadav and Pradeep Yadav, both 24-year-old residents of Rajpur Rural Municipality-5 Nausara, died when their motorcycle collided with a bus (registration Ra 1 Kha 2360).
