The Department of Water and Meteorology reports the lingering effects of Cyclone Remal in eastern Nepal, along with local winds influencing weather patterns across the country.
Currently, skies are mostly clear in the hilly regions, including Koshi Province. This afternoon, expect partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies in the hilly areas, with a chance of light rain, thunder, lightning, and gusty winds in some places of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki regions. There’s also a possibility of light snowfall in the high hills and Himalayas of these provinces.
Meanwhile, scorching temperatures persist in the Terai region of Far-West and Lumbini, with highs reaching 40 degrees Celsius or above for several days. The department warns of a potential heatwave in these areas until June 18th, urging residents to take necessary precautions against extreme heat.
