A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court, seeking the release of Durga Prasai, who was allegedly arrested by the police in an unlawful manner.
Prasai was taken into custody from his residence on Sunday night. His wife, Uma Prasai, has claimed that her husband was arrested illegally and has demanded his release.
The writ petition was filed on Monday, according to Arjun Prasad Koirla, a spokesperson for the Supreme Court.
