Bansbari Land Dispute

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has conducted an inquiry with Basanta Chaudhary concerning the contentious ten-ropani land previously registered under Bansbari Shoe Factory Limited. As per CIB insiders, Chaudhary was summoned and his testimony was recorded.

“He has been requested to provide clarification on any potential involvement in the misappropriation of government land,” revealed a source familiar with the matter.

Furthermore, the Bureau intends to summon Binod Chaudhary, a Nepali Congress legislator and entrepreneur, to furnish his statement in connection to this issue.

The ten-ropani land, previously owned by the government-affiliated Bansbari Shoe Factory Limited, was illicitly transferred to Champion Footwear Pvt. Ltd. Subsequently, Champion Footwear ceased operations, and its assets were transferred under the banner of CG Chandbagh Residency Pvt. Ltd. Notably, Basant Chaudhary held shares in the former Champion Footwear Limited.

According to a CIB investigative official, during that period, Lunakaran Das Chaudhary possessed 2,100 shares, whereas Binod Kumar Chaudhary, Basant Chaudhary, Arun Kumar Chaudhary, and Mahesh Kumar Agrawal held 200 shares each. Gangadevi Chaudhary had 100 shares, and Bansbari Shoe and Leather Factory Limited retained 2,000 shares. Presently, the entity operates under the name CG Chandbagh Residency Pvt. Ltd., managed by Arun Chaudhary and his spouse Shila.

On February 1, businessman Arun Chaudhary and several others were apprehended for further investigation into this case.
