A tragic accident claimed the life of a senior citizen in Birendranagar on Wednesday evening. The deceased has been identified as 72-year-old Lok Bahadur Shahi, a resident of Birendranagar Municipality-Ward 12, according to the District Police Office Surkhet.
Reports indicate that Shahi was struck by a car while crossing the street near Tinkune Bus Park. The vehicle, traveling towards Pipira, collided with Shahi, causing him significant injuries. He was rushed to the provincial hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries later that night.
Authorities have not been able to identify the car involved in the accident. The District Police Office confirmed an ongoing investigation to locate the vehicle and driver.
