Authorities have successfully apprehended and publicly disclosed the arrest of Santosh Suwal in connection with the murder of Gopal Dhakal in Bhaktapur, which transpired a decade ago.
The detained individual has been identified as 29-year-old Santosh Suwal, a resident of Changunarayan Municipality-6.
Gopal Dhakal, 33 years old and originally from Chattar Rural Municipality-2 in the Terhathum district, was discovered deceased in Suryabinayak Municipality-8.
Rabindra Regmi, the spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, has officially confirmed that Santosh Suwal was taken into custody on charges related to Dhakal’s murder.
Suwal had managed to elude authorities for the past 10 days before being apprehended in Mandan Deupur Municipality-6, Kavre, on Saturday.
Before his tragic demise, Dhakal had gone missing. His wife, Renu Dhakal, received a ransom call demanding Rs 200,000 for his release, purportedly from a jungle in Surya Binayak. Swiftly responding to the call, Renu alerted the police.
The subsequent day revealed the lifeless body of Dhakal in Surya Binayak Municipality-8.
