Is Gregory Proposing To Janine?

The answer is yes. The reveal comes almost casually. Gregory is adjusting to his new role as Abbott’s assistant principal when Ava tells him that she knows about his proposal plans. She learned about them from O’Shon, who had apparently heard what Gregory was planning. That immediately turns the proposal into one of the season’s biggest ongoing storylines.

Gregory and Janine are already living together and have been through the awkwardness and uncertainty that defined much of their relationship. Now, Season 6 is moving them toward something considerably more serious. And Ava knowing about the proposal could make things very complicated.
