8th Pay Commission Latest News: 8th Pay Commission is still in consultation with the organizations of central government employees, pensioners and other stakeholders regarding salary, allowances, pensions and other services. Next meetings of 8th Pay Commission are scheduled for October 22 and 23, 2026, in Mumbai after its meetings in Bengaluru on October 7 and 8.
As per the official website of 8th Pay Commission, those organizations and associations which need to meet in Mumbai were supposed to give their requests until October 10, along with the unique memorandum ID provided after submission of memorandum.
The latest updates come when the central government employees and pensioners are eagerly waiting for the announcement of the fitment factor, minimum basic pay, annual increment and revision of pension. However, there has been no announcement of any fitment factor yet.

These consultations are scheduled to be conducted by the Commission in Mumbai during October 22-23. This is in addition to the many other meetings that have been conducted so far in places like Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Lucknow, Delhi, Jaipur, Chennai, Puducherry, Chandigarh, and Bengaluru. These meetings will form part of the consultations being conducted as a prelude to preparing the recommendations of the Commission. This can be seen on the official website of the Commission.
