The anticipation is building as the 23rd Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup gears up to host 12 participating teams during its upcoming edition. Sahara Club Pokhara, the organizing body, officially declared this exciting development during a press conference held today in Pokhara.

Scheduled to unfold at the vibrant Pokhara Stadium from January 23 to February 3, the competition promises an electrifying showcase of football talent. The press conference revealed the inclusion of two notable teams, Delhi FC and Paro Bhutan FC, for the 2023-2024 season.

Delhi FC, currently holding the seventh position in the highly competitive Indian domestic football league I-League, will bring their prowess to the Nepali tournament. Additionally, Paro Bhutan FC, the reigning champion club of Bhutan’s league, will add an international flair to the Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup.

In what marks their inaugural appearance in Nepal, both Delhi FC and Bhutan FC are expected to elevate the competition’s excitement levels, offering a fresh perspective to local football enthusiasts.

The lineup for the Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup extends beyond the international teams to include some of Nepal’s prominent ‘A’ Division clubs. Teams such as Sankata Youth Club, Church Boys Club, Machhindra FC, Manang Marsyangdi Club, Jawalakhel Youth Club, and Three Star are all set to bring their A-game to the tournament.

The competition will also feature a strong representation of departmental powerhouses Nepal Army Club and Nepal Police Club. Adding to the diversity, Sunwal’s Rising Star Club is set to make its debut appearance in the Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup, adding an element of surprise to the mix.
