Netflix’s Korean drama 100 Days of Deception has begun with a story of hidden identities, risky plans and an unexpected meeting. Starring Kim You Jung and Park Jin Young, the series takes viewers to Gyeongseong during Japanese colonial rule in Korea.

The first episode introduces a clever pickpocket whose life could change after she crosses paths with a man carrying secrets of his own. With Episode 2 scheduled for October 11, viewers can expect the story to move closer to its central spy mission.

100 Days Of Deception Episode 1 Recap

The opening episode introduces Lee Ga Kyeong, played by Kim You Jung, a skilled pickpocket who knows how to make a living by using her sharp instincts. Although she is good at stealing from people, her life is far from comfortable. She survives with a group of companions and looks for opportunities to earn money.

Her skills are clear when she steals a suitcase and later checks what is inside. She hopes to find something valuable but is disappointed by much of what she discovers. Even a small bag of rice catches her companions’ attention, but Ga Kyeong decides that selling it would be more useful than eating it. The scene offers a glimpse into the difficult circumstances in which she lives.

Another important moment comes when Ga Kyeong steals the wallet of Kim Tae Woong, played by Park Jin Young. Their first meeting takes place on a train, where they struggle with the languages they use while speaking to each other. Ga Kyeong even pretends to be Japanese, showing how easily she can change her behaviour when she needs to hide the truth.
