Savannah Chrisley, the reality television personality known for Chrisley Knows Best, has announced that she is expecting her first child with fiancé who has been revealed to be Jason Galanis, People reported. The announcement has brought attention to their relationship including their 27-year age gap and the businessman’s criminal record. Galanis, 56, was sentenced to 189 months in prison in 2020 after pleading guilty to his role in two securities fraud schemes. His sentence was commuted by US President Donald Trump in March 2025.

Chrisley, 29, announced her pregnancy and engagement on October 27 through an Instagram post featuring ultrasound photographs and a video of the couple together. “I’ve prayed for this life. I’ve cried for this life. And there were moments I truly wondered if this life would ever be mine,” she wrote in the caption.

While the couple had kept their relationship largely private, Chrisley discussed their romance in an episode of her podcast, Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley. She revealed that they had been dating since July 2025 and described the relationship as deeply fulfilling. The announcement has also drawn attention to Galanis’s professional background, his past association with Hunter Biden and the circumstances surrounding his prison sentence.

Who Is Jason Galanis? A Businessman With A Criminal Record

Jason Galanis is a businessman who was convicted in connection with securities fraud schemes involving investors and a Native American tribal entity. According to The New York Times, he was sentenced in September 2020 to 189 months in prison and ordered to pay nearly $162 million in forfeiture and restitution after pleading guilty to his role in two schemes.

Court records and reporting on the case detailed how investors were defrauded of tens of millions of dollars through the issuance of tribal bonds. Some of the proceeds were allegedly used to acquire financial firms as part of a plan to combine them under a larger company called Burnham Financial Group. Hunter Biden, the son of former US President Joe Biden, was listed as the company’s vice chairman. Biden was not charged or indicted in connection with the scheme.

At the time of Galanis’s sentencing, acting US Attorney Audrey Strauss described the scale of the fraud and the role played by the defendants.

“Jason Galanis orchestrated two multimillion-dollar fraud schemes, and hid behind a team of co-conspirators to conceal his involvement and defy an SEC ban,” Strauss said, according to the US Attorney’s Office.

“He and his codefendants engaged in market manipulation and the defrauding of shareholders, and they stole a large portion of the proceeds of tribal bonds that were intended to fund economic development projects. Now Jason Galanis has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term that reflects the magnitude and pervasiveness of his crimes.”
