KATHMANDU, NEPAL – Nepal is currently experiencing a mix of weather conditions due to the partial effect of western wind and localized weather patterns, according to the Department of Water and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division.
The hilly areas of Gandaki and Karnali provinces will be partly cloudy, while the rest of the country will experience mostly clear skies.
Scattered to light rain with thunder and lightning is possible in the afternoon in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and the hilly and Himalayan areas of Far West Province. Additionally, light snowfall is anticipated in a couple of places within the high hills and Himalayan areas of Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
Lumbini, Sudurpaschim Pradesh, and a few hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali could also experience some light rain.
At night, partly cloudy conditions will prevail across the country with chances of scattered to light rain and snowfall in a couple of places of the high hilly and Himalayan areas of Gandaki province.
Potential Impacts
The Department of Water and Meteorology warns that the potential for thunderstorms in some areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Province, as well as in a few hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces, could partially disrupt daily life. This may have impacts on sectors such as agriculture, health, tourism, mountain climbing, and road and air transportation. The department urges citizens to take necessary precautions.
