The death toll from floods and landslides caused by Super Typhoon Yagi in northern Vietnam has risen to 65, with 39 people still missing. Over 750 people have been injured and the Thao River in Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces has exceeded historical records.

The capital city of Hanoi is facing its highest warning as the water levels in the Bui and Cau rivers continue to rise. The Red River has flooded various areas of the city since Monday, prompting Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to allocate 100 billion Vietnamese dongs (approximately four million US dollars) from the 2024 budget to support the five provinces affected by the typhoon.
