On Sunday, Uruguay kicked off their Copa America campaign with a convincing 3-1 win against Panama in Group C. The match was played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Maximiliano Araujo got La Celeste off to a flying start, finding the net in the 16th minute. The lead was then doubled by Darwin Nunez in the 85th minute, seemingly putting the game to bed for Uruguay.

Any hopes of a Panamanian comeback were dashed when Matias Viña added a third goal for Uruguay in the first minute of stoppage time. A consolation goal from Michael Murillo in the fifth minute of stoppage time did little to change the outcome.

With this win, Uruguay takes control of Group C. They will now set their sights on their next match against Bolivia, while Panama will look to bounce back against the host nation, America.
