Sundarharaicha, Nepal: Two young girls have been found dead in a banana plantation in Sundarharaicha, Morang district. The bodies of 1-year-old Arpana Karki and 3-year-old Ayika Karki were discovered on Saturday afternoon.
The girls were the daughters of Arjun Karki, a resident of Dhankuta. He and his family had been living in Sundarharaincha Municipality-7. According to police, Arjun’s wife, Asmita Neupane, is missing and has not been in contact since the incident.
Police suspect a dispute between Arjun and Asmita may have led to the tragedy. The mother is believed to have left the house with her daughters the night before the bodies were found.
A batch of pesticide was discovered near the scene of the crime, though there were no visible injuries on the girls’ bodies. Police are investigating the cause of death and are interviewing Arjun.
