Morang, Nepal – A young boy tragically lost his life, and a girl was injured due to a lightning strike in Morang on Sunday.
Eleven-year-old Sophian Alam Mian, a resident of Sunawarshi municipality-9, was playing outdoors when he was struck by lightning. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries.
Another victim, eight-year-old Najara Khatun, was injured in the same incident. She was playing under a jackfruit tree behind her house when the lightning struck. Fortunately, her condition is stable, and she is receiving treatment at Rangeli Hospital.
The District Police Office Morang, through its spokesperson DSP Gyanendra Bahadur Basnet, confirmed the details of the incident and the victims’ condition.
