Two Killed After Being Swept Away by River in Kavrepalanchok

Two people died after being swept away by the Vyakure River in Roshi village of Kavrepalanchok district.

The victims have been identified as 65-year-old Jalmaya Ruchal Magar and 5-year-old Setimaya Ruchal Magar, who were residents of Roshi-11 Bhimkhori and reportedly related. Krishna Giri, chief police inspector of the area police office, informed that their bodies were found 900 meters downstream from where they were last seen trying to cross the river.

The flooding Vyakure River also caused significant damage to the BP Highway, sweeping away a hump pipe and blocking the road. Efforts are underway to reopen the road with the help of Roshi Rural Municipality, according to Rajkumar Shrestha, Information Officer of the District Police Office Kavrepalanchok.
